Andrew C. Cavenagh, President

Andrew is a co-founder of Garnet Captive and manages the day to day operations. Andrew has worked in the captive industry for ten years, and has experience with a variety of captive structures, including single parent captives, group captives, and rent-a-captives. He has presented at various captive conferences, and has been an expert witness in captive litigation. Prior to insurance, Andrew worked in the corporate banking group of a large regional bank, where he oversaw the credit worthiness of a portion of the bank’s loan portfolio. Andrew holds a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College.

John J. Purdy, Vice President

JJ is a co-founder of Garnet Captive. JJ oversees all submission processing and underwriting, as well as the firm’s financial modeling and fund accounting. His experiences prior to Garnet Captive include positions at an insurance company, a captive marketing group, and a rent-a-captive. JJ holds a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College.

Michael P. Madden, Vice President

Mike is a principle of Garnet Captive, and directs the firm’s marketing efforts. Mike has worked in the captive industry for over eight years and has extensive brokerage relationships throughout the country. He received multiple sales awards in his prior positions, and is a member of multiple insurance societies. Mike holds a B.A. in both Mathematics and Philosophy from Swarthmore College.
